Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • 750g red onions, peeled and sliced
  • 600ml Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Pickling Spices (or your chosen spices)
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Litre Jar

Method

  1. In a saucepan, bring your vinegar, salt, sugar and spices to a boil to make your pickling liquid.
  2. Thinly slice your red onions and put them into a sterilised jar. If you want to use any additional whole spices you can also add them to the jar at this point.
  3. Pour the hot vinegar into the jars, making sure your onions are completely covered.
  4. Once cooled, tightly lid your jar and place it in the fridge or keep it in a cool place.
  5. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before eating.

Consume within 3 months
